From its humble beginnings with book binding & printing solutions, CBSL has constantly added new business verticals & industries serviced to its offerings over the decades. In keeping with its commitment to technology & innovation, CBSL acquired a majority stake in a software development company to further solidify its expertise in the Banking Software Applications space.
Established under the guidance of our esteemed Chairman Emeritus, the late Shri Ved Prakash Khurana, CBSL initially focused on supplying bank ledgers and binders to the banking industry. As time progressed, we expanded our offerings to include printing solutions, particularly in the field of security printing. Our first branch was established in the city of Aligarh. CBSL quickly rose to prominence as a leading provider of various forms of security printing for State Governments throughout India.
CBSL has been a pioneer in India, introducing innovative technologies such as Automatic Cheque Drop Box (ACDB), Note Binding Machines, and Electronic Cheque Deposit Machine (ECDM). We were also the first to offer onsite record management services, which has now become the operational standard in the industry. Notably, we successfully undertook a significant information management project for storing life insurance documents of all Indian citizens, which has been ongoing since 2007. We’ve also digitised palm leaf manuscripts for prestigious organisations like the National Manuscript Mission, IGNCA, and Orissa State. CBSL's commitment to technology and service excellence continues to shape the future of information management.
CBSL achieved a significant milestone by pioneering the solarisation of Bank ATMs in the country, specifically for Punjab National Bank (PNB). Additionally, we introduced the innovative concept of a Premium Banking Lobby for State Bank of India (SBI) Chandigarh. Our expertise extends to providing comprehensive records management services for all telecom companies in India, handling an impressive volume of nearly 500,000 cartons at one point.
CBSL made a strategic decision to diversify into data processing. Currently, we are actively involved in managing pension saving accounts for all citizens across India, with a specific focus on PNB. This expansion into data processing demonstrates our commitment to staying ahead of industry trends and continuously meeting the evolving needs of our valued clients.
In 2023, the introduction of multi-function kiosks proved to be a revolutionary one-stop solution, offering multiple services within a single kiosk. These kiosks have been implemented across many of the 75 digital banking unit branches that were recently inaugurated by our Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi.
